THE MAIN FOCUS THIS WEEK IS THE DEMOLITION OF THE NIGERIAN HIGH COMMISSION BUILDING IN ACCRA GHANA, AND HOW THIS HAS IMPACTED ON RELATIONS BETWEEN BOTH COUNTRIES.
Interviewed on Channels TV (Nigeria) on 29th June, 2020 on Nigeria/Ghana Relations. Diplomatic row ensued due to the illegal demolition of a building belonging to the Nigerian High Commission in Accra, in clear violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic & Consular Relations (1963) among nations.
The issue was resolved amicably, with Ghana’s President apologizing to his Nigerian counterpart; promised to rebuild the demolished structure; and to prosecute the perpetrators.
Diplomacy in action!
